USAC’S Dave Darland To Speak At Action Track USA/ S.E. Banquet on Feb. 2nd

USAC’S Dave Darland To Speak At Action Track USA/ S.E. Banquet on Feb. 2nd

Kutztown, PA (January 1, 2019) – “The People’s Champ” is coming to Bear Creek Mountain Resort, and racers young and old will want to hear what he’s got to say.

USAC veteran and a member of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, Dave Darland will be the featured speaker on Saturday, February 2nd, when Championship Energy Action Track USA and Speedway Entertainment host their annual Awards Banquet at the beautiful Bear Creek Mountain Resort near Macungie, PA.

Darland has built a stellar career by winning races and championships all over the country, mostly under the banner of the United States Auto Club. His Hall of Fame resume` includes National Championships in all three of USAC’s Touring Series (Silver Crown, Sprint Car, and Midgets), along with more than 100 career victories in those same three divisions.

But the standout from Kokomo, Indiana, also owes (at least) part of his longevity in the sport to his immense popularity among the large and widespread USAC fan base. His nickname (“the People’s Champ”) was earned through season after season of spending countless hours with his fans. He understands the important role that fans play in the sport of auto racing, and he plans to impart some of that knowledge to banquet attendees on February 2nd.

And Darland is no stranger to Championship Energy Action Track USA on the Kutztown Fairgrounds; he’s competed in a few USAC All Pro SpeedSTR events at the Berks County oval over the past few years. Last summer, June 13 to be exact, Darland finished fourth in the Flyin’ Farmer 40 at Action Track USA after starting near the back of the field. He was certainly the sentimental favorite that night, a fact proven by his T-shirt sales before, during, and after the races.

The conversation with Darland at the upcoming banquet will surely benefit Action Track USA & Speedway Entertainment racers who plan to/ or are building a career within the sport of auto racing. And there’s no doubt it will be highly entertaining as well.

Track Champions, along with those drivers who finished in the top ten in each of the speedway’s weekly divisions (SpeedSTRs, 600 Sprints, All Star and Junior Slingshots) will be saluted during the February 2nd awards gala. The top point earners from Speedway Entertainment’s various tours will also be recognized.

Banquet tickets are still available by calling Speedway Entertainment at 717-866-7450. Tickets are priced at $45 per adult and $40 for kids. On February 2nd, doors will open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00, with the awards ceremony and Conversation with Dave Darland following the meal.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort is located on Doe Mountain Lane in Macungie, PA. Guest rooms are available for those who wish to stay overnight.
