SUNOCO/INSINGER PERFORMANCE PARTNER WITH SPEEDSTR’S & ACTION TRACK USA

SUNOCO/INSINGER PERFORMANCE PARTNER WITH SPEEDSTR’S & ACTION TRACK USA

Myerstown, Pa. – Sunoco Race Fuels and Insinger Performance will partner with the SpeedSTR division and the Action Track USA in 2013.

The freshly-minted deal makes Bruce Insinger’s company the title sponsor of what will now be known as the Sunoco/ Insinger Performance National Championship SpeedSTR Series.

“It’s a good avenue to promote our racing alcohol product,” stated Bruce Insinger, whose company has been selling race fuel for the last 27 years. “Our Stinger Racing Alcohol is the purest alcohol product on the market. And it will be used by the SpeedSTR Series in 2013.”

With the National SpeedSTR Series competing at tracks all over the northeast and even into Canada, it seemed a natural fit for Insinger Performance to become the lead marketing partner for the tour, since the fuel supplier, based in Dushore, Pa., is the Sunoco representative at speedways in five northeastern states (Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland).

“We don’t just sell fuel; we also give back to the racers who support us through sponsorship. We probably sponsor more tracks and series in our five state area than any other supplier or vendor,” said Insinger.

As an example, Insinger Performance is the Official Racing Fuel of the upcoming indoor series featuring TQ Midgets in Baltimore, MD; Providence, R.I.; and Atlantic City, NJ. And Sunoco, through Insinger, has just been named as the official race fuel of the Action Track in Kutztown, Pa.

Now under the guiding hands of Rich Tobias and Doug Rose of Speedway Entertainment, the Action Track (formerly Kutztown Fair Speedway) will serve as the home track for the SpeedSTR division. Still hosting Wednesday night competition, the weekly race meets will also include wingless 600cc and winged 270cc Sprints and the All Star Slingshots.

“There will be lots of Stinger Racing Alcohol used by teams running at the Action Track,” noted Insinger. “And we’re anxious to have them try our product. They’ll be very happy with it because, at 99.99% alcohol, it’s the highest grade methanol on the market.”

Insinger also noted that, beginning the first part of February, two new products will be available…Stinger Ultra and Stinger Plus. “They’re going to help the racers produce even more horsepower,” said Insinger.

Tobias pointed out that his family, which carries a deep and longstanding link with racing on a local and national level, has had a relationship with Sunoco for many years. The late Ronnie Tobias, a brother to Rich, helped to cultivate that relationship when he was racing and winning in big block dirt modifieds.

Doug Rose, a partner to Rich Tobias in the promotion of the Action Track USA in Kutztown, says that more information regarding the Sunoco/ Insinger Performance National Championship SpeedSTR Series and the Sunoco fuel deal at the Action Track will be revealed when the reconfigured speedway hosts its first Media Day on March 17, 2013.

While the name suggests that the motorsports press will be the only folks in attendance, Rose said that is not the case. “Media Day on March 17 will be open to (obviously) the media, and also to racers and fans. We want everyone to come out and get a look at the new track. We’ll also be selling pit spots, season passes, and, if everything goes according to plan, we’ll probably have a few cars on the track as well.”

Rose also hinted that another well known dirt Modified star has ordered a SpeedSTR for Wednesday night competition at the Action Track. An official announcement is forthcoming, after sponsorship agreements have been confirmed. This big winner joins a list that includes Jeff Strunk, Craig Von Dohren, Brian Monteith, Chad Layton, and Rick Eckert as top name drivers who are expected to battle for the $2,000 weekly winner’s share in 2013 SpeedSTR action on the oval at the Kutztown Fairgrounds.

Additional details regarding Media Day on March 17 will be released as they are confirmed.
