Huge Bargain Coming Up This Wednesday; Four Big Main Events Including 75-Lap Tobias Classic

Searching for the best value for your entertainment dollar? Want to experience some ground-pounding, heart racing, edge-of-your-seat excitement for the last time before the three-week midsummer break? Well then, have we got the show for you!

Come on out for your midweek motorsports adrenaline rush at Championship Energy Action Track USA on the Kutztown Fairgrounds this Wednesday, June 19! You will see one driver collect a whopping $5,000 for winning the postponed Dick Tobias Classic – the seventh annual 75-lapper for the USAC All Pro SpeedSTRs. In addition, the SpeedSTRs will run a complete program highlighted by a 30-lap main event and the All Star Slingshots will also be on the menu and the whole show is sponsored by Gables Service Center.  And, for the first time under the Rich Tobias/ Doug Rose promotional effort, the Hyper Racing EVO Injection 600 Sprints will compete with wings bolted to the top of their rollcages! The regularly scheduled portion of this program ; is the Goldie & Elton Meitzler Memorial that was rained out on May 12. And it is the final race before the annual midseason respite; following this Wednesday’s event, there is no racing in Kutztown until the Ronnie Tobias Memorial on July 10.

And here’s the best part…you get to witness all of the fantastic four-wheeled mayhem described above for the regular admission price of just $14 for Adults, $12 for Senior Citizens (anyone 62 and older); $5 for youth between the ages of six and 12; and children under the age of six are free!

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, with the grandstand gates swinging open at 5:00. Warm-ups begins a few minutes after 6:00 and qualifying races follow immediately after the hot lap sessions.

On May 19, all of the SpeedSTR qualifying activity was complete before the rains came and washed out the 75-lap Dick Tobias Classic. That race will be made up this Wednesday, and then the SpeedSTRs come back with a full program of qualifying and a second main event – at a distance of 30-laps.

It’s a non-point event for the winged 600 Sprints, who will draw for starting spots in the heat races and then re-draw for their feature starting positions. Their main event is 25-laps, while the All Star Slingshots will battle in qualifying heats and a 20-lap feature. Alphabet mains, if needed, will also be run as last chance qualifiers for the winged 600’s and Slingshots.

All of the past winners of the Dick Tobias Classic are planning to be in the field this Wednesday. Already qualified are: Rick Eckert (2013), Brad Brightbill (2014), and Tim Buckwalter (2018), who will attempt to win their second 75-lap Tobias Classic. No one, however, has had more success in the lucrative long distance event than three-time and defending SpeedSTR point champion Billy Pauch Jr. “The Kid’s Kid” has triumphed in the race dedicated to the memory of Dick “Toby” Tobias on three occasions (2015, and twice in 2017 – the race was rained out in ’16 so it was held two times the following season).
