Christopher Bell To Wheel USAC Midget At Action Track USA On 7/31

You’d think Christopher Bell would have too many other things to think about than a five day swing through Pennsylvania by the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget Championship. After all, the Oklahoma native has four wins and is in the thick of the points battle in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and he’s a three-time winner of the prestigious Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in his home state.

But Bell is pure racer, and he loves to dabble in the dirt when he’s not wheeling his Xfinity car. He peered over the USAC National Midget schedule when it was released, and one venue in particular caught his eye.

“When I saw Kutztown on the USAC schedule, I knew I had to be part of PA Midget Week,” Bell told Action Track USA co-owner Doug Rose. “Your track is bad-ass!”

The winner of the past three Chili bowl Midget Nationals will gas a Keith Kunz creation in (at least) the first three events of PA Midget Week. Grandview Speedway kicks off the week on July 30, followed by Championship Energy Action Track USA on July 31.Path Valley Speedway on August 1st, it’s Linda’s Speedway on Friday, August 2nd, and the five race miniseries ends on August 3rd at Lanco’s Clyde Martin Memorial Speedway.

But it’s the mighty Midgets’ inaugural visit to Championship Energy Action Track USA on Wednesday, July 30, that has Bell and the USAC regulars stoked for their trip to the Keystone State. Belfor Property Restoration is the event sponsor for the event at the racy oval on the Kutztown Fairgrounds.

Logan Seavey, the defending National champ and his USAC Midget cohorts are eagerly anticipating their July 31 debut at the Berks County oval. Seavey, who is coming off a recent Indiana Midget Week title, will lead a strong contingent of midwestern wheel-twisters to the Keystone State along with current NOS Energy National Midget Championship leader Tyler Courtney. Known as “Sunshine”, Courtney has six victories and is one of only two drivers with more than one triumph on the National tour so far this season. Nine drivers have a single win (through July 15) and the wildly competitive nature of the National Midget Series was demonstrated during Indiana Midget Week, when five different pilots picked up victories in the five race miniseries.

Expected to join Courtney and Seavey for PA Midget Week and the first-ever appearance at Action Track USA are Chris Windom, Kevin Thomas Jr., Zeb Wise, Tanner Thorson, Justin Grant, and several others who produce some of the wildest, most competitive, heart-pounding racing in the country in their clay tossing Midgets.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., with grandstand gates swinging open at 5:00. Warm-ups begin at 6:05 and qualifying activity gets underway right after the hot lap sessions.
