2019 Schedule Takes Shape; USAC Midgets Coming To Kutztown In July

Kutztown, PA (November 18) –  For the third consecutive year, the season opener at Championship Energy Action Track USA on the Kutztown Fairgrounds will occur on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12.And, while fans eagerly anticipate every event at the progressively banked, ultra-competitive clay oval, there is one date on the upcoming calendar’s slate of races that will certainly be circled by fans and competitors alike.

On Wednesday, July 31, 2019, the cars and stars of the P1 Insurance USAC National Midget Championship series will visit the Berks County race place for the very first time. While a few of United States Auto Club’s hot shoes such as Brady Bacon and Kevin Thomas Jr. have competed at Kutztown in SpeedSTRs and 600 Sprints, this will be the inaugural appearance by the mighty Midgets at Championship Energy Action Track USA. The Hyper Racing 600 Sprints will join the USAC National Midgets for this blockbuster show on the 31st.

Action Track USA will run Sundays until its younger fans are out of school in June. On June 12ththe track goes back to its traditional Wednesday schedule and will remain there through the end of the season in August.

After the Mother’s Day opener, the 2019 campaign continues full bore, with the 7th Annual Dick Tobias Classic taking a new date of Sunday, May 19. Once again, the 75-lapper for the USAC All Pro SpeedSTRs will pay a hefty $5,000 to win.

June 12 will be the first Wednesday night event, and it will be designated as USAC Night and play host to the Flyin’ Farmer 40 for the SpeedSTRs.

The following Wednesday, June 19, will be highlighted by another first-time event at Championship Energy Action Track USA. The 600 Sprints will compete WITH WINGS on that night. It will be a non-point event and the winner could pocket $700 (with Gambler’s Fee). A winged race for the 600’s was inked for the Tuesday of last year’s Kutztown Fair, but that race was rained out. With interest in a winged event running high, co-promoters Rich Tobias and Doug Rose have penciled it in for June 19of the new season.

The Ronnie Tobias Memorial returns in ’19 and it will be held on July 10; the first race after the mid-summer break.

As in previous years, the weekly divisions will include the USAC All Pro SpeedSTRs, the Hyper Racing 600 Sprints, and the All Star Slingshots. There are also six dates booked for the Junior Slingshots.

More information will be released in the coming weeks as additional details are worked out and the remainder of the schedule is confirmed. But one thing is clear…2019 will be another clay-spraying, excitement packed season of thrills and high speed adventure at Championship Energy Action Track USA on the Kutztown Fairgrounds!
